A True Integrative Approach to Mental Health
We believe that healing is most effective when care is comprehensive, personalized, and rooted in compassion. Our providers are trained in traditional psychiatry, while also bringing specialized expertise in trauma-informed care, including somatic experiencing and other skills for nervous system regulation. This allows us to support the full spectrum of your mental and emotional wellbeing—not just symptom relief, but deep, sustainable healing.
We are uniquely positioned to bridge the worlds of psychiatry and psychotherapy, working collaboratively with your existing therapy team to ensure that every aspect of your care is coordinated and aligned. Whether it's medication management, trauma support, or lifestyle-based interventions, we tailor each plan to meet your specific needs—always with safety, trust, and connection at the center of our work.
Our integrative model also draws on the latest science in:
- Nutritional psychiatry, supporting the brain through targeted dietary strategies
- Genetics and epigenetics, offering insights into how your biology, life experiences, and family history shape your mental health
- Hormonal balance, the gut-brain axis, and the immune system, recognizing the deep interconnection between body systems and emotional wellbeing
This whole-person approach allows us to go beyond symptom management and instead explore the root causes of distress. By weaving together traditional psychiatry with cutting-edge research and somatic wisdom, we provide a space where healing is not only possible—but deeply supported.

Our Practice Philosophy
At Trauma Healing Journeys We Prioritizing Safe, Supportive Relationships
At the center of our work is a belief that healing begins with safety in relationship. Many of our clients carry attachment wounds—experiences of disconnection or relational harm that can impact how safe it feels to be seen, heard, and supported.
We understand that nervous system regulation and emotional connection go hand in hand, and that without a felt sense of safety, true healing is difficult to access.
That’s why we approach every interaction through the lens of building a genuine, supportive, and consistent relationship—one that is grounded in trust, attunement, and respect. This isn’t just part of our approach—it is the foundation.
Areas of Expertise
Somatic Experiencing® & Trauma-Informed Psychiatry
All of our providers are trained in Somatic Experiencing®, a body-based approach to healing trauma and chronic stress. This method helps gently guide the nervous system back into regulation by focusing on physical sensations rather than only on thoughts or memories. It is especially supportive for clients who feel stuck in cycles of anxiety, numbness, hypervigilance, or overwhelm—even after traditional therapy.
Working in this way allows us to speak the same language as your trauma therapist, ensuring that your care team is cohesive and aligned. We approach every client with the respect, pace, and attunement required for true trauma recovery.
Psychosis, Bipolar Disorder, and Schizophrenia
For individuals navigating psychotic disorders, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia, we integrate nervous system regulation techniques with targeted, minimal medication support. This approach acknowledges both biological and trauma-related contributions to these experiences and focuses on long-term healing—not just symptom suppression.
Depression, Anxiety, Panic, OCD & ADHD
We view these conditions through a dual lens of biology and adaptation. Many symptoms emerge as intelligent nervous system responses to overwhelming life experiences, stress, or developmental trauma. We work to understand and treat both the underlying biological imbalances and the psychological patterns that contribute to your current experience.
Complex Trauma and PTSD
Our team brings a comprehensive understanding of how trauma affects the mind, body, and nervous system. We offer comprehensive support for those healing from developmental trauma, chronic stress, or acute PTSD, recognizing that healing happens best in a space of safety, trust, and attunement.
Reframing Mental Health Diagnoses
We do not view diagnoses as fixed labels. Instead, we understand symptoms as meaningful signals—manifestations of trauma, biology, stress, and nervous system dysregulation—acting as information pathways that direct us toward what our bodies and brains need. We believe in the innate human capacity to heal, and we walk alongside you as you move toward wholeness and freedom from these patterns.
Nutritional Psychiatry & Whole-Body Healing
Food is medicine for the mind, too. We use principles of nutritional psychiatry to help regulate mood, support nervous system health, and lay the foundation for emotional healing. Proper nourishment can amplify the impact of therapy, medication, and other healing modalities.
Medication as a Supportive Tool
We view psychiatric medication not as the solution—but as a supportive tool that can help stabilize mood, reduce suffering, and create the inner capacity needed for deeper healing work. Medications are used thoughtfully, always with the goal of supporting your overall wellbeing and long-term recovery.
Respect for Spiritual and Religious Wounding
Respect for Spiritual and Religious WoundingWe understand that for some, spiritual or religious experiences have been a source of deep harm. For others, spirituality and religious practice can be a tremendously meaningful and healing resource. We hold space for spiritual wounds and core meaning with compassion, recognizing their profound impact on identity, trust, and healing. Whatever your background, we meet you with openness and respect.
Medication Support & Thoughtful Tapering
We specialize in antidepressant and benzodiazepine tapering, using evidence-based methods such as the Maudsley Deprescribing Guidelines and the Ashton Method. Both methods involve a specialized custom approach to safely coming off benzodiazepines, antidepressants and other psychotropic medications.
Tapering is approached with great care, always tailored to your individual physiology and emotional readiness, with nervous system regulation strategies used to support stability and safety.
Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) & Autoimmune Dysfunction
We take an integrative approach to treating Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS) and other autoimmune dysfunctions, combining medical expertise with a nervous system-oriented framework. Rather than focusing solely on symptom management, we explore how chronic autonomic dysregulation—often a result of unresolved survival stress—can contribute to immune dysfunction. Through medical support and somatic therapies, we help the nervous system complete interrupted stress responses, expand its capacity for regulation, and move toward greater balance. This approach not only addresses underlying patterns of dysregulation but also supports meaningful, lasting improvements in quality of life.
